Recorded from the Atlantic slope, in Río Frío and Parismina and the Pacific slope in Térraba and Coto (Ref. 95550); also from Río Grande de Térraba. Inhabits among rocks in creeks and rivers of low to moderate current velocity between 20 and 560 m elevation. Frequently attached to stones from which it scrapes its food of algae and associated microorganisms (Ref. 36880). |
